During the presidential campaign, Barack Obama went to great lengths to convince everyone he was a strong defender of the Second Amendment. Whatever Mr. Obama’s true conviction, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, his pick for the Supreme Court, does not view the Second Amendment as guaranteeing an individual right.

For those who have any remaining doubts, in a 2004 decision, U.S. v. Sanchez-Villar, Judge Sotomayor ruled “that the right to possess a gun is clearly not a fundamental right.”
Judge Sotomayor’s nomination isn’t just about the judge’s beliefs. It also tells us that no matter how much he protests, Mr. Obama’s views on guns are out of sync with those of the vast majority of Americans.

New Hampshire Seeking 500% Hike of License to Carry Fees!

The New Hampshire Legislature is currently considering the New Hampshire state budget (House Bill 2). The budget bill contains language that would increase the fees for non-resident licenses to carry from $20.00 to $100.00, a 500% increase in the fee.

Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) had to choose between getting her constituents voting representation in Congress and denying her constituents’ Second Amendment rights. Norton is withdrawing the DC Voting Rights Act because of an amendment attached in the Senate requiring District gun control laws to be no stricter than those of the Federal government.
